* CALL FOR ARTISTS*
Are You Ready To Join A Gallery?
We’re always looking to up our membership and add new members so we’re on the prowl for exciting and emerging artists!
The process is easy and we’re here to hold your hand and encourage you through it. We’ll partner you with a mentor for the first month. We will help you to display and market your work.
Here’s how it works:
Contact our Membership Chair Sherri by email email@example.com . She will respond and ask you to submit 5 pieces of your artwork for our jury process.
Once you’re approved, we’ll schedule a time to set up your display!
Since we’re a member owned and operated business you’ll need to be involved in working a few shifts at the gallery every month (don’t worry, we’ll train you). We’ll also ask you to roll up your sleeves and get involved in helping to do a few other things around the gallery. Maybe marketing, merchandising, social media or perhaps working on our special events or art display committees.
The cost to join is a very affordable $60/month and you get 85% of everything you sell! We’ll help you market yourself, and we have a website and Facebook to help you get up and running.

for John Ricklefs
SATURDAY September 1, 6-9pm

The First Art Gallery of Olathe would like to personally invite you to an art reception in honor of our September featured artist John Ricklefs. John will be showing his photography all month in the gallery. The reception for John is Saturday September 1, 6-9 pm. at the First Art Gallery of Olathe. The evening will include refreshments and live music provided by Diana Yancey
John invites you all to come check out his new photo’s and help him celebrate.
John has been actively pursuing photography since 1960. John worked in a national park that summer and his roommate bought him a small 35mm camera and it was off to the races.
He has done many things in photography over the years, some landscape, some lighthouses, some human interest, and some sports related for his kids and grandkids. Over the past 12 years, he and his wife Marcie have traveled internationally to participate in mission work and have had the good fortune of returning home through a dozen or more countries. While there, of course, they worked on photography in every country they traveled. September’s theme is AFTER DARK which is featuring photographs taken at night. Included are such icons as the Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and a few other from France, as well as many things closer to home.
