For Phyllis painting is a joy and a passion. The beauty of everyday objects and the world around us is the inspiration for the still life compositions she creates. It is her desire to give the viewer a new awareness of the simple things that enrich our lives.
Phyllis has participated in numerous workshops and courses and is active with the Olathe Visual Artists and the Greater Kansas City Artists Association. She was accepted into the Kansas Missouri Women’s Artist exhibition in 2006. Another showing in 2006 at the Verdigris Valley Art Exhibit in Independence, Kansas led to her receiving first place in Collage. Her work is also shown at Hidden Glen where she has received patron’s purchase, The Heartland Show, receiving an award and has participated in the Sulphur Springs Valley Arizona small works show, each year winning an award.
