I grew up in South Dakota and there started my love of the prairie, wide open spaces, and the expansive landscape. Having tried a few years in Chicago for school, it became clear I wasn’t a city girl, and I moved to Kansas. When I retired to paint professionally, the goal was to establish myself in KC’s artistic community and to continue to learn and expand my use of tools, mediums, artistic categories, and technique. I now paint and draw more landscapes than portraits, which was my first love. I now use graphite and charcoal, ink, and pastel, as well as oils. I mentor, I teach, and I paint full time. I paint and show what I like, and I have a customer base for commissioned pieces. Selections of my art can be seen on my website, www.CAReflection.com, at the First Art Gallery of Olathe, as well as at area art shows and festivals.
