I think grouped but separated by walls and/or standards, photographic at one end and painting at the other. I think this would give the most hanging space. And hopefully make it easier for viewers to see one artists work from another. A booth or small table with only OVA info/pamphlets and a sign for OVA might be nice to separate the photographic and paintings (a table could sit outside between two booths and slide into a booth at night). This way prospective members could have noticeable easy access to printed ready to go information to visit and join. I think if we made artists signs to hang at the top front of the booths (if allowed) it might help viewers distinguish the artists since we were two to a booth and it seemed to cause a bit of confusion. Matching signs would help show where the group started and finished.

I had an idea the other day that it would be nice to put together a binder of OVA members’ work. One page per member artist and a page or two to hold everyone’s business cards to give out. Also, some cards and/or fliers about the OVA as a whole that people can take with them if they want. That binder could go on the table at any event where the OVA is represented as a group and would provide some minimal representation of ALL our artists, even those who can’t make it to the event that day. Because, face it, sometimes we’d love to attend, but scheduling conflicts prevent us. The pages would be basically what’s on the member’s pages on the OVA website unless the artist provides something different.

Another thought. If we’re sponsoring emerging artists, shouldn’t their tent be at the end of our row of tents? At least, if we’re grouping our tents together.
